Creative Spirits A Personal Portrait Challenge This summer and fall I am challenging myself to paint ten portraits from life. Each portrait is of someone in the Charlotte area who is a creative artist. Some are fairly well-known. Others are artists "under the radar." These people have all kindly agreed to pose, a wonderful gift for which I am most thankful. My goal is to push through my painting boundaries and to create an energetic and gestural painting style which reflects our time together in the studio and the spirit of the artist. Here are a few images from this project. Later I will post the full-sized, completed versions of these paintings. |
